Background

Monolith was originally founded as Monolith-Systems in 2002 by Carsten Berggreen. The company was actively run for many years, working with a range of digital solutions and software projects. The company name reflected the ambition: build something solid, enduring, singular.

2002–2014

During this period, Monolith delivered:

  • Custom software solutions
  • Websites and digital platforms
  • Client-specific systems

The company operated with varying levels of activity until 2014, when Carsten chose to step back in order to secure a stable full-time income.

Career Development

Following this transition, Carsten gained extensive experience working in the gambling industry, ERP and integrations, and software architecture roles. This period helped strengthen his technical and architectural expertise.

Today

Monolith ApS still exists and is actively maintained in Carsten's spare time.

The focus today includes:

In addition, Carsten continues to modernize existing solutions and develop new ideas and platforms.

Publishing

Monolith is also used as a publishing vehicle under Forlaget Monolith. This has been used in connection with book publishing, including work related to udaftaagen.dk. Words matter as much as code.
