SCARZIX
Music
One of the key releases is Back2Basic.
Originally composed in 2013 as a Commodore 64 SID track, it marked a return to music creation after many years. Later, the track was recreated using modern DAW tools and VST instruments and released on streaming platforms.
Commodore 64 Scene
Carsten has been part of the Commodore 64 demoscene for many years.
- Joined the group Offence in 2013
- Later co-founded the group Monolith in 2025
These groups represent collaboration, creativity, and a shared passion for pushing the limits of the C64 platform.
Early Work
Carsten composed music for the Commodore 64 game Combat Zone, released in 1990 by Magic Bytes in Germany. The work was created using the JCH music editor.
Payment for the music was an Amiga 500 — which became the next step in his creative and technical journey.
Hardware
Carsten still owns and maintains his original systems:
- Commodore 64
- Amiga 500
- And the systems that followed
These systems remain an important part of both nostalgia and ongoing creative inspiration.
Visual Identity
The SCARZIX identity is inspired by:
- TRON
- Cyberpunk aesthetics
- Pixel and grid-based visuals
It represents a fusion of retro computing, digital music, and modern visual expression.
